A pasture for the overgrown

underdeveloped
asexual tendencies.

Your buds inseminated by
a spilled seed collective;
internal as thought and
unclear to me
as most things are.

So as I cut you
in halves
and you drown decoratively,
know
I have no dying wish
other than to witness
your death
as a public trophy.

I don't know if I'm reading this correctly... but yeah. I really liked this.

and the way you set up the last stanza.

To me, and I could toootally be off, the piece read as an ode to a new love - possibly defined as impure and with a past... and your hopes to restore them to a sense of innocence and purity. To turn public into private, wiping clean the slate of the past.

So yeah, please come back and explain... because I have the tendency to make up my own interpretations.

Yea, I meant it as a metaphoric visual of a flower being displayed on a table set or cabinet or something. I started thinking about the dual nature of the vased flower; one being the decoration that is often overlooked and is a symbol of love, thoughtfulness, and beauty and the other, more literal, side being a living thing (the flower) that gives it's life and literally dies to become a decoration.

I tried to leave this open for interpretation as far as the implementation of the metaphor goes, but in my mind I had connected the dual nature of the flower in the vase to the dual nature of love - the overlooked, the beautiful, the appreciated, and the morbidity that all comes with love.

So you're interpretation is a correct interpretation as it pertains to you. The best art, for me, is always something that I can take and make my own and relate to in a way that makes sense to me.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and your response and I hope this clears up any questions about the mindset I had going into writing this.
