And the diagonal boxes on the sides don't look right to me. I think you should add different effects to contrast them more with main pic.

and those spikey things are just c4d's...i just use em for dumb effect
adds to flow in pieces..slash i use them in pretty much all my work.
part of my style..haha
but i feel you...they really dont make any sense...
