    Adobe tips

    So, i have an AT2020. Anways, what are some good tips to help my audio sound more "professional" or better quality? Like, maybe the compression or what?

    first, be sure your original input signal is at the proper level, peakin' around -6db...

    second, learn about compression and fuck around with it till you understand it... it's a must for rap music basically...

    third, learn a little about equalizing and use it WHEN NECESSARY... chances are, with the 2020 USB mic it will be necessary... remember, it's better to cut than to boost, you wanna take away from the annoying frequencies rather than add to the others to compensate...

    those are three of the most basic things that will pay off...

    the absolute most important thing, though, is where you place your mic and how well you've sound treated the recordin' environment... a booth or sound treated closet is best, but there are other things you can do it that's not a practical option...
