Yeah, I use 150 to 300 usually for print... I don't always go for 300.

What's hard about changing two digits?
I'm just saying it's a 'common' preference, not a standard. I'm pretty big on small things like that, i like people to understand completely.
You're not wrong, it's perfectly good practice to go with 72dpi etc, but some people switch up so i'm just adding to your comment that saying 'should' is the wrong word because people have different preferences.
Personally the only benefit i get from 72dpi is that bit-fonts look proportional. I prefer to do everything in 300.

what about me?
save it as a .jpeg, ive never heard that program so i cant help u there...

Never used that program but for a final image, save it as a jpeg/gif/png at high quality. If the program allows you to use layers, or if you haven't finished the image, then find a file-type local to the program that doesn't compress the image for good.
In other words, the same thing as a PSD in photoshop (doesn't save the image, but saves the data to allow you to carry on next time you open it).
Get on limewire and search Photoshop CS2, only download zip or rar files, and only download the files that are over 150mb. Anything less will be bullshit or a virus.
Also it helps to go with a file that's labelled well, with capitals in the right places, good spelling etc. Usually the quality of the file name gives a little insight in to the trustability of the file.
Don't download 'photshop2&keygen'
I'd consider 'Adobe Photoshop CS2 + Keygen'
You should be ok after that. There should be a readme in the file once you've downloaded it explaining how to set it up.
Once you've got photoshop, always save things you want to work on as PSD.
If you've finished with it then save the image accordingly, JPEG for simple web graphics, TIFF or PSD for print.

thansk the program is pretty cool but it has no layers
but thanks imma chek out you helped me alot
i finally got this shit ...and im confused...i got cs2
also i took the brushes and put them in d brush folder...how do i use them now
can anyone get on aim or yim and help
Click your brush pallette, which is the drop-down box where you select your brush. In the top right of this box there should be a little 'play button' symbol, click this and a menu pops up. Select 'load brush' from the menu, and then browse to the folder where you saved the brushes.
Make sure you load the brush file that ends in .abr, these kind of files should be the only ones that show up anyway so you'll be sorted.
Double click the file, and then it'll be loaded into your brushes for you to browse and select from just like any other brush.
If you go back to Photoshop some other time and they aren't there, simply click the same 'play button' and select the name of the brushes from the list in the menu.
If they aren't there then just load them again.

umm umm....like i ....shit...i wanna take some photos' and uses them as album art,i want make some grudge dark lookin, then bright open colors,
also what size would i make this shit...like is there a template
i barely got photoshop and i dont want it to be all crappy and it confuses the shit outta me...i got like 2weeks to maek this shit happen
2 Weeks is long enough.
Get a decent camera, get the pictures for your cover/back/insert and whatever else, and then worry about the design.
Consider the design first. Get some ideas of the kind of look you're going for, or if you've got CD covers yourself then yeah whatever, just get some stuff to look at and think up your own ideas from.
Work out the layout of the CD cover, where the text is going to go. Draw thumbnail images (small sketches of how it will be laid out, draw a box about 5cm/5cm and use stick figures and shapes to show where different things will be)
Once you're happy and you've got a load of ideas for photographing, go and take your pictures. Take a few of each pose, so you can select the best after.
That's all you need to know for now really. Make sure you use the best camera possible, and make sure you consider the settings, scenery and outfit that the person'll be wearing before you take the pics.
