EASTERN CONFERENCE
Detroit- Powerhouses, nuff said.
vs
Cleveland- Lebron's a prodigy, not a miracle worker. Come on, 5 all-stars against Lebron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskaus and Larry fucking Hughes? They'll be lucky to take one game in the series.
Detroit wins 4-1
Miami- Yeah I know, D. Wade and Shaq. And? They have a decent supporting cast, but Jayson Williams is too turnover prone to be efficient. Udonis Haslem's on and off and so is Gary Payton. Antoine Walker flat out sucks this year. If Alonzo Mourning starts feeling better and gets more playing time, then it's a different story.
Vs
New Jersey- They've already proven they can play solid defense and keep momentum. You could not ask for a better guard combo than Carter and Kidd. Jefferson will be back in full effect for Game 3 and with Krstic playing aggressive, I'm calling the Nets in 7, possibly 6 if they can win tonight.
Nets win 4-3
WESTERN CONFERENCE
San Antonio- Won't get it done this year, they have a good squad but not enough to handle the Mavs. Tony Parker's been a bright spot all season, but outside of Duncan he has no help. Van Exel, Mohammed, Finley and Horry have been virtually silent during the first two games. Brent Barry and Manu Ginobli are playing ok, but ok isn't going to cut it.
Vs
Dallas- Depth all around on the Mavs squad. Big confidence boost when you can get a 20 point performance from a bench player in his first game as a starter in the playoffs. Mavs proved they don't need Nowitzki and Terry to put up big numbers to win, with Josh Howard every so often busting out a 20+ point performance. The combo of Diop and Dampier gives the Mavs the liberty of having extra fouls to use on Duncan. Bowen did a great job defending Nowitzki in games one and two, holding him to 20 and 21 points, respectively. But this series is done in 6 games.
Dallas wins 4-2
Clippers- Even though the Clips are playing good basketball, Maggette is going to have to step it up if they're going to take the series. Kaman and Brand have pretty much owned the boards all series. Mobley's showing his playoff experience and Ross is playing some excellent minutes for LA. If they can keep dominating the glass and contesting perimeter shots, this series is as good as done.
Vs
Phoenix- Nash is going to have to step up and assert himself in the late stages of the game. Marion's going to have to try and bully Brand and Kaman and make his presence known under the boards. Thomas is going to have to be extra physical too. Bell and Barbosa need to mantain a steady attack from outside to open up the lane for Nash and Marion.
Phoenix wins 4-3
