I got a job at Dream Studios as an engineer/producer. The studio uses Pro Tools for the Audio recording and Mixing, but Reason for the beat making. The only thing is. I have no clue how use that shit (Reason)!!! Anyone have tips & tricks to as to how to use it?
Oh and the studio hired me more for the Engineering than the producing, just in case you were wondering.

Damn... Reason was the first thing in audio school. That's too bad. It's a great program for teaching signal routing.
You shouldn't have trouble with it tho. Watch a couple tutorial videos. You route everything like actual rack gear by connecting virtual cables. And it has a standard sequencer. Pretty easy program to use. You should catch on quick if you're an engineer.
yea i downloaded some tutorials. it doesn't seem as difficult as i previously thought. I went to Audio School in San Antonio. They used Reason but never really showed us the ins and outs. More over, they showed use Mastery of Pro-Tools, Mpc's, how to use a Phantom. a lot fo various shit.
But i'll take my laptop with me tomorrow. i should have it down pack in a few days

It was a contract. I Got 1500 for 1 year. plus whatever business i can bring in, i get to set the price & collect half of that.. It's a relatively small studio. There are 5 recording and producing rooms, 3 Mastering rooms and 2 lounges. And it is connected to a small club.

Na i live with my girlfriend. but yea 1500 is low but i know a lot of rappers that need studio time. Shit i done booked 3 rappers already at 300 each. thats anothr 450 by the end of the week. And i got a Rock group coming tomorrow so that should be interesting.
but the way the building is designed is pretty dope. The Studio i work in has this huge window overelooking the club so if I go at night I can mix and master and see what's poppin in the club.

giving a guy fresh out of audio school a paying gig to engineer when a big a studio wouldn't even pay you to clean their toilets.
I mean i engineered straight out of audio school but i didn't get paid shit! but i work at a big studio we have a 9000j and i got credited on the first album i ever worked on. now i work out of that studio as a freelancer.
and yea youtube probably could find a manual on propellerhead or could ask the studio manager where he keeps all the manuals
