This cargo train of ambition,
already left the station before
but the prism of light it cast.
Made me feel special,
If only for a moment.
Sepia sunsets stolen away
under a banner of stars and stripes.
Show me the way to Hollywood
I hear rumours that the pied piper
arrived before schedule.
A trail of rodents in pursuit.
Welcome.
Lime-light is but a studio lamp
- as bitter as the name
anorexia is in season right now,
and citrus must be high in calories,
for people are growing fat with greed.
Californication? Dream on.
A legion of semi-identical dolls
now stand at the gates of hell,
the plastic shells of all those
that they've trampled upon,
crumble beneath high-heels.
But Hollywood always told me;
* It was the place to be.
* That sex sells well.
* The first kiss tells you everything.
And Hollywood lied...
Rejecting my passionate embrace.
A monotone rainbow remains
will I find my dream at the end?
Or another angry leprechan
to steal away my true colours?
