1-2 Punch: Week 1 Mag.
Intro
Welcome all of you to a new week of the 1-2 punch league. Week 1 went off better then i had expected it to, and there were actually some dope match-ups. There were only a few no-shows, and hopefully with them taken out now we can get down to the people who are serious about staying around and making something happen here. Next week we will start the contender match-ups for the HW battle. This week looks pretty close as well so i hope that everyone is preparing themselves to face opponents who are very close to their own skill level and are ready to drop something good enough to top them.
Ideas...
I had a few ideas that we could incorporate into this league because of the large size of it, so tell me what you guys think about these different plans and give me feedback in this thread to them.
- Boot Matches? place people in these battles basically if they have been posting a bunch of whack shit or if they were only let in because of their posts and not skill.
- Divisions- I would break down the league into 4 divisions of 8 teams in each, there would be a non-conference and a conference schedule just like the NFL, 8 weeks of each except you would know that you have to battle everyone that's in your division.
now i know what your thinking, if we do that then people will be able to pre-write and prepare to battle against their division. THAT IS PART OF THE POINT. it will give people a chance to have 'gameplans' and be able to get ready for macthups which i think in the long run will up the competitions.
playoffs would also work just about the same as the NFL, 12 people in all would make the playoffs. 8 people would make it into the wild cards and 4 people would get automatic bids.
also, with this system people will be able to sign in & battle for spots that are at the bottom of the division. i would still be keeping the points system in work but it will be more or less to keep ranks seperated in divisions.
***NOTE- this is NOT for sure yet, i need peoples opinions before i even consider this.
BOTW:Phlymo vs. Axe
This battle was pretty exciting. axe was basically making his debut back on the site and was trying to prove he could take out one of the vets and i think just forced his punch a little bit to hard. Phly had a decent punch that just ended up crushing axe's in the votes. but still, i've got to say this was a pretty decent match.
Runner-Up:The Archetype vs. Art
Yeah this one was pretty cool too, both dropped something decent but arch's was enough to make arts punch look like it was nothing in comparison. good job arch.
Worst BOTW:Camo vs. Vallus

Predictions
1. Phlymo [1-0] vs. 2. Supernat [1-0]
Justt more in his groove right now, i expect phly to be tough for anybody to beat right now. Super IS good competition though so they will both need to make sure they are on top of their game
3. Truculent [1-0] vs. 4. King Ancel [1-0]

5. Camoflawge [1-0] vs. 6. Wordz Aghod [1-0]
Camo is a decent battler and he is getting better. Wordz is just a bit more polished of a battler and i expect that he will stay near the top of this league for quite a while.
7. Born To Kill [1-0] vs. 8. Quest [1-0]
Born is last seasons champ, quest is good but i dont think hes ready to dethrone the champ yet. i mean, dont get me wrong both of these guys can bring it but i just have to think that BTK has been doing more for longer then Quest has.
9. Verbal Hologram [1-0] vs. 10. Divine Intervention [1-0]
This one can really go either way, and idk who to pick but im guessing DI as hes a bit more consistent
11. Puzzle [1-0] vs. 12. The Archetype [1-0]
Puzzle is def. getting better, and arch is already pretty decent so this is obviously a tough one to call. but since i prefer to pick experience over potential i have to assume that arch is going to take this one.
13. Wyte [1-0] vs. 14. Jonezy [1-0]
wyte and jonezy are not the best text battlers to ever exist but wyte has a little more practice at it & i think he'll win this one for sure.
15. SpongeJosh [1-0] vs. 16. MixedBreed [1-0]
idk who mixedbreed is.
17. Brandon Cee [1-0] vs. 18. Bardock [1-0]
Bardock isnt made to battle against decent text heads, which is exactly what brandon cee is.
19. James W. [0-1] vs. 20. Rappertoire [0-1]
both poetry heads, a little too tough to call.
21. JayIgh [0-1] vs. 22. DEADPROOF [0-1]
idk who deadproof is
23. feed-back [0-1] vs. 24. Deadpool [0-1]
this one im calling a deadlock. feedback is a decent battler and can definitely bring it but deadpool is just a much more experienced battler. im having trouble making up my mind so i am going to have to leave it as a tie for now.
25. Futuristic [0-1] vs. 26. ..Compa.. [0-1]
idk futuristic
27. Vallus [0-1] vs. 28. Art [0-1]
blah, idk who to pick here. i think that art is an overconfidentneedstogetmoretalentbeforetryingtocom petewithtopbattlers type of guy and i thhink vallus can drop good but just lot of times doesnt put any effort in which WILL cost him a win against someone like art. and althought i think art is too cocky, he can still definitely win this with his joke-over-punch type style.
29. Caesar Augustus [0-1] vs. 30. Rizpy. [0-1]
this match has some potential. neither of these guys is bad by any means, and neither of these guys should be looked over just because they have losses. but i think in the match of just making 1 punchline caesar is going to be the better battler here.
31. chrostopher dre [0-1] vs. 32. Axe. [0-1]

33. White-Winter [0-0] vs. 34. Blayde' [0-0]
dunno white winter well enough
35. Syanidal [0-0] vs. 36. Casanova [0-0]
dunno casanova good enough
37. Truth [0-0] vs. 38. XM [0-0]
truth is a poetry head, and XM is an audio battler. i dont think either has a true advantage here but i would say that ive seen malice drop text battles every now and then. and thats the reason i give him the nod.

Hope you all enjoyed the mag, sorry i got a little bit lazy at the end there i am just super tired n knew that i wouldnt want to do this later so i made a small compromise. ive got to say though that this week looks beautiful as far as tough matchups goes and that alot of these thing could go back and forth,, good luck to you all.
