    Big Lou>Joe Budden.

But yea, I see it's a little bit equal...Even though West Coast still needs to put some more artists out there..They always have a few good hits, but then it goes nowhere.

But yea, Vanja hit it on the head...Obviously the south is still dominating in popularity

the South is just getting it's moment for the club shine. the lyrics are simple enough to casual listeners to catch on and the beats go hard.. can't deny it. but it's just like any other pop craze it's bound to end...

but to say that some real dope artists haven't come out of the south would be ridiculous.

new york is the mecca of hip hop.

no one ever disputed that fact.

the south never claimed to be the mecca.
    Welcome to reality.

You're saying that like each one of those artist's (besides maybe Cormega because of popularity) couldn't make TOP G.O.A.T rappers. Those 4 names you just dropped are all LEGENDS.

    NYC:
Rakim, Biggie, Pun, Nas, Mega, AZ, JayZ, 50 cent, Wu Tang.. I mean cmon just that alone.. and I know theirs some im missing

With just those names alone you could put my top 5 g.o.a.t together

New york is like the church of hip hop. Especially with artists like Cormega, Nas, AZ, Nature, Big L, Big Pun, Eric B & Rakim, Wu-tang Clan, Talib Kweli, KRS-One....basically too many to name. But then New York does have its bad.

Everywhere can have it claim to fame but i would deffinetly agree the hip hops church is New york although it is debatable.

    ...50 Cent LOL !?!?

and i'm sorry but Bone Thugs N Harmony, NWA, Tech N9ne, Eminem, Outkast, Scarface, etc etc etc can easily be put over some of those artists.

Biggie wasn't that great tho man. i don't agree with u listing Biggie with Rakim or Nas..

as far as i see ur list on has 4 legends on it. Wu Tang was legendary don't get me wrong. but they put out just as much wack shit as dope shit. sorry.

This is one of those topics that can't be settled because like you said Outkast, Scarface etc....are better than a lot of New york talent but hip hop wouldn't be the same without New York.
