    Prisoner's Dilemma

    Something I read b4:

If both stay silent, both prisoners are sentenced to only six months in jail for a minor charge. If each betrays the other, each receives a two-year sentence. Each prisoner must make the choice of whether to betray the other or to remain silent. However, neither prisoner knows for sure what choice the other prisoner will make. So this dilemma poses the question: How should the prisoners act?
What should the prisoners do? What would you do?

    More details are needed...
    How close are they?
    What's the charges?
    Are they truly innocent?

Because if they are truly innocent, and there is insufficient evidence to convict them, they cannot be sentenced to anything.

    But anyways...

I would stay silent, depending on who my accomplice was.

If it was a bitch nigga who I knew would try to snitch, then I would tell on him too. I aint gettin no ten years.

But if it was one of my real niggas, or family, I would stay silent, and just take the two years, cuz I know he wouldn't snitch on me.

    That's just me.

    I would rat him out.

If he speaks against me, I get 2 years. If he's quiet, I'm free.

If I stay quiet, then it's either 6months in prison or 10 freaking years.

    Re: Prisoner's Dilemma

Ultimately depends on how long i've known the dude for, what kind of relation he is to me and that sort of stuff.

If I know him well, then i'll be able to trust him enough to know that he'll stay silent also, so we'll both get a 6 month sentence and be out in 2 max.

If i've never met the kid before and theres no chance of me meeting him again, then i can't trust him to take the same route so to defend myself I'd have to go against him. 2 Years and you'll be out in 8 months, 10 years and you're missing 3 years of your life. I couldn't take that kind of fall for someone I didn't know...

    Re: Prisoner's Dilemma

it depends on how well i know the guy. the best choice is to snitch though. but personally, if it was someone i cared about and knew, i wouldn't say anything.
