You need to configure you settings, man. It depends on your soundcard and computer. There are no default settings I can give you.

shit when i record most the time i can't hear shit or i can barely hear it.. so i normalize the vocal's n tada....

because all you're doing is raising the noise floor. you should be recording at a strong level. if not then TURN UP the recording volume either on your preamp or soundcard settings.
