I've gotten in excess of 60 kbps using BT so you can just go sit in the corner you pathetic excuse for a human being.
You do not download from the actual site but rather from a "seed" i.e. someone who has the fucking file on their computer. You become a seed once you start downloading the file then other people can download off you. In order to be nice and not considered a leech one would leave the window open once downloading has finished to allow other people to get the file. This is called seeding. Once you close the BT window you are no longer a seed and all uploading stops.
You can get anything using BT as long as you generally belong to a community who create torrents often. RB is not one of these places.

This file is around 5-9kb in size. Once said file is downloaded and opened BT will open and begin to connect to a seed (A person who has the file and is available to upload.) You then begin downloading and you now are a seed and people can download the same file from you as long as you leave the BT window open.
E.g.
Inspire uploads a torrent file entitled "eatshit.torrent" with the description of "WOWZERS COOL PORNO" next to the link.
You download and open "eatshit.torrent" and you connect to inspire and download the movie of your mother fucking a horse.. Oops I mean "WOWZERS COOL PORNO."
Once you have finished downloading the porno you can leave the window open and other people can connect to you because you are now a "seed". Now when people download and open "eatshit.torrent" they can download the movie of your mother fucking a horse as well as inspire. This cycle continues until everyone basically closes their BT windows. Thus leaving no "seeds" to download from.
It's not totally correct but that's the gist of it.
