watup yall, i bought a shure mic for about 100 on musiciansfriend.com, and ive got a mic cord with shoxkmount and and a popblocker, ive got good headphones, but i need a preamp right?...where can i get 1 and what kind will i need, also, do i just hook it up ta a mixer?...becuase i have a mixer, or can i hook it up to my pc?...pleas help...pz
get a preamp. try a presonus blue tube preamp from musiciansfriend.com. you hook the preamp up to your sound card. you need a sound card with a 1/4" jack.or if u cant afford it get a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to hook it up to a normal adapter. youll need xlr mic cable to go from the mic to the preamp. then u need a cable with xlr on one end and a 1/4" jack on the other end. you can get that from radioshack.
ight...so, i know what a soundcard is, but what is the purpose of an adapter?
cause ur consumer soundcards are 1/8", the mic cable is 1/4", n u use an adapter to hook it up to hte comp...
