are you strictly hip hop?
you get what you pay for because I do charge lol. but i'm giving away free mixing and mastering so niggaz know I aint playin and I do good shit.
but post up sessions and send em to me, not many left on the 10 here.
I do anything btw lol, not stricktly hip hop
how about giving tips and advice on what to do for a good mix
as much as i would like to sit back and just let someone else do all the work so to speak, i would rather learn it on my own and apply it
well do some reasearch then and get learning^
Would you mix me a beat?
^ might find something interesting

Jay or Opey, is there a certain format for mixing you use. Like first you do compression, reveb, eq, etc.
Or do you just do them in any certain order?
Volume and panning first. Then eq. Then compression and whatever else as needed. Then reverb and delay type fx. Then adjusting everything starting all the way back at the beginning. Then automation. That's roughly the order I follow. It varies but not much.
^^^^^^^^^^^
bingo lol
thats what i do aswell
a tip on eq'ing, take away before you add to frequencies.
but yeah i'll mix beats aswell.
i really cant believe not many people want to get their shit mixed and mastered lol, like wow, i thought people were gonna hop on it like fuck yeah! lol
Alright thanks opey. I have not looked at how to mix a beat, well I never knew you had to. What things do you usually use to mix them with?
btw, I'm saying vocals=mix, and the beat to what I am rapping too being mixed.
...and people probably don't have recorded verses at the moment to be mixed etc.
We're not talking about mixing a beat you downloaded to rap on. We're talking about mixing a beat that you made lol
But now that you mention it, I usually use some automated eq on a mixed down beat to make room for the vocals. Mixing vocals into a mixed down beat is so shitty tho. I hate it. They're typically already compressed to death leaving no room for anything.
yeah i don't have anythign recorded that isn't already mixed atm, because I'm assuming you need raw vocals to do your magic right?
Why wouldn't you have the raw vocals??
^everything i have are completed songs that already have mixed vocals in the sessions
